HISTORY
The Republic of Aswington was founded on May 3, 2017. At that time, it was founded as an autonomous republic belonging to the Popular Union of Occitania. This republic possessed autonomy in all aspects, except in the diplomatic and national defense fields. The government of the autonomous republic collaborated with the central government in various matters, establishing a bond of friendship between the two.
On October 28, 2018, the Popular Union of Occitania was dissolved by order of its authorities. As a result, the autonomous republic gained its independence. In mid-2020, the Constitution of the Republic was promulgated, and was reformed in mid-2022.
We are a democratic and multiparty country, where different forces converge in the political arena. In addition, we are a country that guarantees the respect and tolerance of citizens' rights.
NATIONAL SYMBOLS
The country has its own national symbols. These are:
- Flag: It's the national ensign of the country. The flag consists of a light green cloth, with a vertical white stripe located at the edge closest to the flagpole. In the center of the light green field is an eight-pointed star.
- Coat of Arms: The national coat of arms is composed of a white eight-pointed star on a light green shield, surrounded by two olive branches.
- Other: The cayenne, - whose scientific name is hibiscus rosa-sinensis -, is the national flower of the country. Meanwhile, the harpy eagle, - whose scientific name is harpia harpyja - , is the country's national bird.
